It snowed overnight. By morning the snow was glossy with a slick coat of freezing rain.
So it goes, in south-central Pennsylvania.
Before I began my 172 project I was prone to muttering, It's cold. I'm not goin' out there, from mid-December until the spring thaw.
I am grateful I have developed a new eagerness to venture outside in all sorts of weather. Oh, what I have missed!
I now know my delicate wild columbines are still as bright green in December as any day in June! Our big green bullfrog peeks out of the pond on sunny days...and the goldfinch family in their beautiful winter plumage still visit the nyjer feeder regularly.
It is never too cold to go out there.
