Since the day I began this project - these daily observations of my property - it seems things have been in a muddle. I have been plagued with unsettled weather (week-long heat waves, torrential downpours), and unsettling neighbors (don't ask).
When I finally have a moment to study some small corner...I take notes, make observations and snap a picture...more often than not, I come inside only to discover my internet is disconnected from our Dell PC (yet somehow my ten-year-old VAIO laptop is connected?!).
I spent the weekend organizing my medicine-making supplies. I organize when I feel muddled.
I've been studying The Herbal Medicine Maker's Handbook: A Home Manual by James Greene. Over the last few weeks I have been collecting pint jars, bottles, strainers, funnels, filters, spoons and spatulas and today I converted an IKEA hutch into a storage cabinet. My dehydrator, chopper, big stainless steel bowl, beeswax, etc. have found a home there, too!
Thunderstorms are in the forecast every day this week...hopefully I will have a chance to harvest some of the plants growing in our gardens and make use of my un-muddled cabinet and all of its supplies. The medicine-making process may serve as a healing balm of sorts. ♥
